24 hour cycle: Process-based thinking
A key feature of formwork construction is the fixed daily cycle. This cycle is repeated each day: formwork, reinforcement elements, plumbing, electricity and ventilation installations are put in place in the morning. In the afternoon, concrete is poured for the walls and (sometimes) the floor. Within 24 hours, the concrete hardens enough to allow for stripping the formwork and placing it in the next position to repeat the cycle.
Fixed daily cycle
The daily cycle is based on the desired amount of production for each work day. The time available in a day is put to optimum use, making full use of the available production resources. Each day, the same activities are carried out by the same crew in a fixed pattern. Harmonisation between resources (formwork and crane) and labour (crews) is essential for this process.
Process-based instead of project-based thinking
A process-based approach is required when operating with a 24 hour cycle. Working using a process-based system instead of a project-based system results in a rapid building cycle that saves money. With the help of a step by step schedule, a process-based approach results in a reliable and manageable plan. In addition to formwork, Konosch also provides any required supervision so that your optimised process proceeds efficiently and effectively.
