Features of steel wall formwork
Modules
Konosch products are constructed in modules. Each module is 1200 mm in length with an upright height of 2750 mm. Attachment components can be added for higher walls to raise the formwork by 300, 600, 900, 1200 or 1500 mm.
Transport
This modular construction allows for transporting large quantities of formwork (approximately 200 m2) on a semi-low flatbed. This helps to keep transportation costs down. Konosch wall formwork is also lighter than other competing products, so a heavy hoisting crane is not needed on the construction site.
Construction
The wall formwork is delivered to the construction site fully ready for use. The modules are assembled for the required concrete wall dimensions and apertures are provided in the formwork for accessories and installation fixtures. The formwork is ready to use upon arrival at the construction site. The various framework components and modules are easily connected and secured using three speedbolts. Konosch formwork can be used without props and braces - this saves time during construction. The formwork also has an adjustable frame. The entire structure remains standing independently as a single unit. A ratchet wrench is provided to make the adjustments. This user-friendly work technique is just one of the reasons there is so much demand for this product. Both formwork panels are connected with centre pins. This makes the formwork so rigid that no distortion occurs. By using a single centre pin through the concrete, the finishing work on the concrete wall is simplified. Horizontal reinforcement sections also contribute to the rigidity of the formwork wall.
Finishing
After the formwork has been used on a project, it is overhauled so that it can be used again. The steel surface is ground to a smooth finish and any apertures are welded shut. The formwork is now ready to be reused. The thickness of the steel plate surface (4 mm) ensures that any deformation is minimal, resulting in a long product lifespan. The greatest advantage here is that the concrete walls require practically no finishing work.
